After completing a term at the commission, Giovanni joined the National Children’s Campaign  (NCC) as a youth organizer focusing on the issues of education, later Giovanni would become the Director of Education for the NCC. Giovanni believes that education is one of the great equalizers, and believes the with access to good quality education, America’s children can reach their full potential regardless of race, social-economic status, or ability.

Giovanni believes that the power of this country rests with the people and that change happens when people organize and advocate for that change. Giovanni is committed to empowering those who have been forgotten and that their voices are heard on issues from civic engagement, education, climate change, immigration, affordable housing and so on.
